What Can the Wellness Inventory Do for Me?
The Wellness Inventory is a pioneering "whole-person" wellness program designed to help you gain personal insight into your state of physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The program, developed by HealthWorld Online and wellness pioneer John W. Travis, MD, MPH, offers guidance and tools to transform this new awareness into sustainable lifestyle change, and a renewed sense of health and well-being. The program can help you to:
  • Discover your wellness profile in 12 dimensions of your life.
  • Identify the areas in your life you are most motivated to change.
  • Create a personalized wellness action plan.
  • Access tools and resources to help you reach your goals.
  • Create the desired changes in your life.
  • Track your progress in reaching a higher level of wellness.
  • Achieve a higher level of health, wellbeing and aliveness.

Key Features of the Program
The Wellness Inventory determines your state of balance in 12 key areas of your life, which Dr. Travis called the "Wellness Energy System." The program then identifies specific areas you are motivated to change, and guides you in creating a personalized wellness action plan. Finally, the Wellness Inventory provides valuable tools, resources and services to help you reach your wellness goals and bring more balance into your life.

Your personal experience of the Wellness Inventory program can be summarized as a journey consisting of "5 Steps to Wellness".

Step 1: Take the Assessment
The Wellness Inventory is an educational process that raises your awareness of the impact your behaviors, thoughts and attitudes on your health and well-being as you take the assessment. The assessment enables you to:
  • Assess yourself in 12 areas of personal wellness.
  • Determine your motivation for change in each of the 12 sections by assessing your level of satisfaction with each of your answers.
  • Gain deeper understanding in key lifestyle areas through the commentaries (when you are unclear about a statement).
  • Take multiple sessions to complete. You can log-off prior to completing the assessment, save your answers, and return at a later time to resume the test.
Step 2: Receive Your Wellness & Satisfaction Scores
Receive Wellness & Satisfaction Scores for each section as well as overall scores for the entire assessment.
Your Wellness Scores indicate your level of wellness in each of the 12 sections.

Your Satisfaction Scores indicate your readiness for change. Low scores indicate the areas of your life you are most motivated to change.

Step 3: Create Your Personal Wellness Plan
The Wellness Inventory provides you with guidance in creating a Personal Wellness Plan consisting of up to 10 action steps based upon the areas you are most motivated to change (as reflected in your Satisfaction Scores).

Features of the Wellness Action Plan include permission-based email reminders (emails with your personal plan), as well as the ability to edit and update your plan as necessary throughout the year.


Step 4: Tools to Help You Reach Your Wellness Goals:
The program allows you to access a suite of tools to help you follow your wellness plan, meet your goals, and make lasting changes in your life.
  • "My Wellness HomePage": Provides quick access to all features of program (see box below).
  • Email Reminders: Receive regular email reminders of your current Personal Wellness Plan to keep you focused on your goals.
  • "My Wellness Journal": Document your wellness journey with the "My Wellness Journal" feature. This allows you to record your observations and insights every day in all 12 areas of wellness to help you better understand your inner and outer life and progress on your journey.
  • Self-Study Center: Access insightful commentaries on all of the statements in the Wellness Inventory assessment, to help you gain a deeper understanding of each of the 12 areas of wellness as they relate to your life.
  • Edit/Update Wellness Plan: The Wellness Inventory program is designed to keep you motivated to stick with your Personal Wellness Plan. Your wellness plan can be edited and updated as you progress on your wellness journey.
  • Evaluate Your Progress: We invite you to retake the assessment every 6 months to evaluate your progress via the test comparison feature, which includes the percentage of change in the Wellness & Satisfaction Scores for each of the 12 sections.
Step 5: Resources for Ongoing Wellness
Access educational and lifestyle resources to help deepen your awareness of the key areas of your life you are seeking to bring into greater balance - helping to bring about an experience of ongoing wellness.

Each of the 12 sections has a corresponding Resource Center to access resources to support you in carrying out your action steps, meeting your wellness goals and creating lifestyle change:

Wellness Coaching: Coaching can greatly accelerate this 5 step process by providing the support and accountability that increase your success in meeting their wellness goals. This is an optional feature accessible through the Wellness Resource Centers.

Each time you login to the Wellness Inventory you arrive at "My Wellness Homepage" - your personal "wellness command center." Here you can:

  • Edit your User Profile
  • Start a new test or resume an incomplete test
  • View results from previous tests
  • Create a Personalized Wellness Plan
  • View your completed Wellness Plan(s)
  • Edit & Update your completed Wellness Plan(s)
  • Change email options for your Wellness Plan
